Obituary of

John Warren McDaniel

John McDaniel, a wonderful husband, father, pop-pop, and brother passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home in Ramona, Oklahoma surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. John was born on September 16, 1954 to parents James and Norma, joining sister Joyce, and brother Jim. Sister Janis and brothers Jeff and Joe would complete this family of eight. Growing up John enjoyed playing basketball and fishing with family and friends. He also developed a lifelong love affair for his beloved OU team. At the age of 25, John became a father to son Brian, then seven years later daughter Ashley was born, followed by daughter Megan, and daughter Heather. He was a proud father and enjoyed supporting each child’s interest, from basketball, golf and softball. Always ready to boast about each one of his kids. After several years of being acquaintances then friends, John married his soulmate and best friend Ronda in a small intimate ceremony surrounded by their family. John added two children to his family with his marriage, a daughter Haley and son Brock, while Ronda inherited John’s crew. As John’s family grew both by number and age, you could ask anyone who knew him and as much as he loved his children, he adored being a grandfather. Pop-Pop as he was known to them, was always ready for a hug and always had a spot on his lap for them. John will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, and pop-pop. His laughter and dry sense of humor will be missed. John is survived by his wife; Ronda Clark-McDaniel, his children; son, Brian McDaniel, wife Christina, daughter; Ashley McDaniel, daughter; Megan Swearingen, husband Richard, and children Dylan, Devin and Jaylei, daughter; Heather Ryan, husband Jimmy and children Calvin, Cameron, and Trey, daughter; Haley Barrett, husband Brett and children Kolby and Kory, son; Brock Clark, wife Anjela, His brothers; Jim and Jeff McDaniel, His sister; Janis Hutson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
