Obituary for Tommy "Ed" Edward Bays

Tommy Edward “Ed” Bays, was born on Wednesday, April 28, 1954 in Pensacola, Florida, the son of Tommy Allen and Kathryn (Heath) Bays. He passed this life suddenly at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. He was 68 years and 13 days of age.

Ed was a 1972 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. He attended the University of Tulsa for a short time. He was married to the former Miss Brenda Lockhart on November 15, 1975 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ed was a self-employed Carpenter and Mill Wright worker for Bayco Construction and Remodeling. He enjoyed working on and collecting Antique Tractors and Engines, going to flea markets, swap meets, auctions, engine and tractor shows. His greatest love came from spending time with Brenda and their border collies. He and Brenda would discuss of an evening (sometimes over a few drinks) their plans for the next day, which was subject to change. First thing the next morning was, what’s for Breakfast, “and it could be Barbeque or Pizza” and then the day started.

The family requests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, Tulsa Zoo, 6421 East 36th Street North, Tulsa, OK 74115 or, Pets and People Humane Society, 9733 Northwest 4th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73127.

Ed is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda and their Border Collie, “Sunshine” Sami. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Allen and Kathryn.
