A memorial service honoring, remembering, and celebrating the life of Michael David "Mike" Flowers will be held at 1 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Cedar Point Church in Claremore.  Mike passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 8th 2018 at his home in Claremore.  He was 64.

Born September 8th, 1953 in Phoenix, Arizona, Mike was the son of Herschel and Virginia Flowers.  He spent most of his life in Claremore and Broken Arrow.  Mike was a great football player for the Broken Arrow Tigers.

Mike worked in the tire business his entire career.  He established Mike's Tires in 1992, which remains a successful Claremore business today.  Mike was the very best grandfather and great grandfather and he loved his family dearly.  He loved Taco Tuesday at El Azteca's where the family came together weekly. 

Known around Claremore to be quite the hero, Mike and his brother Robert once saved the lives of two other people drowning on Oologah Lake.  Mike later founded the Oologah Jackpot bass fishing tournament.  He worked in the tire business his entire career and established Mike's Tires in 1992, which remains a successful Claremore business today.  Mike was a huge supporter of our veterans.  He organized the Flower's Annual Dove Hunt near Talala, where hundreds of veterans came together every year.  Claremore will truly miss Mike Flowers.

Mike always referred to his family as his tribe or clan. Surviving tribal members include his children: Shawn Flowers , and Angelia Byington and her husband, Benjamin; his grandchildren: Camden Flowers Murray, Jake Williams and his wife, Rachael, Jazmine Flowers, and Easton Byington; his great grandchildren: Jerzei Murray, Rhett Flowers, and Kael Williams; his siblings: Robert Flowers and his wife, Karen, and Kathy Flowers; his nephews: Chris and Brian Flowers; and two men who were like his sons, Joe Wasserman and Leroy Ross.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Velma Flowers, and Virginia Mattox.
